Chauncey Gardner -
he was the gardener
no one got it
His benefactor did
but he died.
They identified him:
The gardener
The philosopher
The lover
The politician
The poet -
all such things die,
happy or sad
matters not to a freeperson.
Earth or oceans
stood not in the way,
in The Garden
walking with God
not even a serpent accused him,
being there
he walked on water
only because
Emmaus' road was covered.
