in the tabernacle of 
my mother’s womb,
first church to sing from
at four, earliest recall,
heaven believed, never doubted,
though certainly tried to toss it out,
just couldn’t cease praying. 
funny. irony. 
once an apologist,
no need today
(I understand another’s need
to prove their tradition’s veracity.),
today, one’s creed 
is found in their behavior.
