'horror by whores'

'horror by whores' timothy r gates, 10/30/2011

Horror by whores
horrified by my horrific
Neanderthal recessive genes,
realizing my gender applauds what we abhor,
yet, most often i simply like words
for their presence,
absence,
immediacy,
their silence.
They could be accused of whoredom ,
and me their profiteer,
if only they'd sell to a high or low bidder,
i proffer you are free to call me your
whore,
just as long as there's no horror to such moans.

'we protested' or 'vote out the bastards'

'we protested' or 'vote out the bastards' timothy r gates, 10/14/2012

we protested,

then we learned how to

vote.

marched downtown

marched uptown,

learned how to have a

voice.

learned when not to

speak.

learned the importance of,

'next.'

(sometimes we said, 'screw it all,

let's get stoned.' we didn't need to learn again)

peace, love, togetherness,

D.C. and other nation states

sometimes sang our song,

not because they could harmonize,

rather to drown us out.

they used to say,

'those blacks,' or 'those hippies,' or 'those fanatics,'

then we protested more,

we voted.

today they sing together in D.C.,

pretending like they're not part of the same soup,

some saying they support protesters,

others calling the protesters, 'those lazy protesters.'

D.C. has never loved 'all the people,'

only the ones that help their 173,000 become millions -

go figure.

we protested,

then we learned to vote.

vote out the bastards.
