‘We just don’t Say goodbye ‘

‘We just don’t say goodbye’ timothyrgates,2/9/2018

When they die we just don’t say goodbye.
Heaven, or a place within our hearts,
When they die we just don’t say goodbye.

Some have answers, no mystery,
they don’t say goodbye.
when we bury Mother, Father, Brother, Sister, Friend,
platitudes are lost in the end.

When they die we just don’t say goodbye
Heaven, or a place within our hearts,
when they die we just don’t say goodbye.

Lazarus died, was buried,
Jesus arrived late to his wake,
“He wept,”
he didn’t say goodbye.

Once we walked in the cool of the day,
dew on the grass, between our toes,
here we say hello.

When they die we just don’t say goodbye.
Heaven, or a place in our hearts,
when they die we just don’t say goodbye.

Here we say hello.

‘In you eyes’

‘In your eyes'                    timothyrgates,2/16/2017

Eyes, mirror into your soul,
heard this since a boy.
Eyes, looking at me,
funny what I see.

Little boy,
sitting on daddy's knee,
his Gibson, strumming Hank's song,
thinking it was me.

Eyes, mirror into your soul,
heard this since a boy.
Eyes, looking at me,
funny what I see.

Quiet tears,
more than a sea,
black and blue, praying
rainbows for me.

Eyes, mirror into your soul,
heard this since a boy.
Eyes, looking at me,
funny what I see.

In your eyes,
little guy looking back at me,
stars smiling with the Sun,
funny, now I see.

Eyes, mirror into your soul,
heard this since a boy.
Eyes, looking at me,
funny what I see.
